Salem, Mass., touts its haunting attractions year-round, but October is when the spotlight really shines on the city known for the Witch Trials of 1692. Dozens of events are planned, continuing through Oct. 31, Halloween night.
Among attractions are the Trick or Treat Walk, the Salem Witch Museum, tours of Nathaniel Hawthorne's "House of the Seven Gables," a 1630 haunted village, the Witch Dungeon Museum, the Witch Trial Trail, a psychic fair, children's activities and costume parties. A "terror ticket" provides discounted admission to several haunted attractions.
