A Southern Tier Blues Fest will be held here Saturday at Veterans Park on Broad Street.

Coordinating the event is Sandy Abrams, owner of Iroquois Station. She said she hopes to not only bring people into the city to benefit businesses but to bring the popular blues music into the Southern Tier.

Opening the show at 11 a.m. is local Native American blues band Peacepipe Mafia, followed by Willie and the Reinhardts at 1 p.m., Painted Pony at 3 p.m., Black Cats Blues at 5 p.m. and Shakin Smith and His Blues Band at 7 p.m.

Highlighting the festival is the Sam Lay Blues Revival Show at 9 p.m.

Tickets are $10.

Ms. Abrams said she hopes to make the festival an annual event in the city.
