A Mass of Christian Burial for Stella A. Genewick, 87, an office secretary in the 1920s at the old Polish Everybody's Daily, will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church, 64 Center Ave., North Tonawanda.

Prayers will be said at 10:30 in Saber Funeral Home, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.

Mrs. Genewick, a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, died Sunday (May 9, 1993) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a long illness.

Born in North Tonawanda, the former Stella Majka was a graduate of Our Lady of Czestochowa School in North Tonawanda and Chown's School of Business.

She was a member of the St. Ann's Society of the Polish National Alliance at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the church's Seniors and the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Her husband of 57 years, John T., died in 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice LaFreniere of North Tonawanda and Christine Stravino of West Seneca; four sisters, Frances Chmielowiec and Adelaide Grendisa of North Tonawanda, Mary Trzeciak of Niagara Falls and Felicia Moderacki of Spring Hill, Fla.; a brother, Valerian "Jimmy" Majka of North Tonawanda; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
