BRONX FIRE SHUTS DOWN COMMUTER TRAINS

A four-alarm fire in a Bronx warehouse forced Metro-North Commuter Railroad to shut down all lines on New Year's Eve because the tracks run behind the warehouse, officials said.

The fire started at 8:20 p.m. Monday in the commercial building at 3020 Webster Ave. in the Bedford Park section, and about 120 firefighters were sent to the scene, said a spokesman for the Fire Department who would only identify himself as Randazzo.

No injuries were immediately reported.
