Police were holding a 22-year-old native of Vietnam on a detainer warrant in connection with a murder in Biloxi, Miss. Taken into custody at the Rainbow Bridge while attempting to enter this country Sunday afternoon was Son Y. Nguyen of no permanent address.
Officer Charles Young said Nguyen was stopped by customs officials while entering this country after he showed up on their computer. He was listed as "armed and dangerous," and the warrant listing him as an accessory to homicide was dated Jan. 17, 1989. Details of the incident were not available.
Young said the suspect was not armed. His vehicle was seized and three other passengers, also identified as Vietnamese, were released. Nguyen was being held in the city jail without bail, and authorities are scheduled to come from Mississippi, providing extradition arrangements can be made.
