RED CROSS PLANS SCREENINGS FOR BLOOD PRESSURE

The New Year's first free program to screen residents for high blood pressure will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday in St. John AME Church, 917 Garden Ave.

The Niagara Falls Chapter of the American Red Cross sponsors free blood pressure screening programs at various places throughout the year. Chapter officials recommend that residents have their blood pressure checked at least once a year.

Other free screening sessions during January include:

Thursday -- Red Cross headquarters, 719 Ashland Ave., noon to 2 p.m.

Jan. 8 -- Niagara County Human Resources Building, 10th and East Falls streets, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Jan. 9 -- Wrobel Towers, 800 Niagara Ave., 10 a.m. to noon.

Jan. 10 -- Red Cross headquarters, 719 Ashland Ave., noon to 2 p.m.

Jan. 15 -- Niagara Falls Boys Club, 725 17th St., 10 a.m. to noon.

Jan. 16 -- St. Michael's Polish National Catholic Church, 250 27th St., 10 a.m. to noon.

Jan. 17 -- Red Cross headquarters, 719 Ashland Ave., noon to 2 p.m.

Jan. 22 -- Niagara Community Action Program, 19th and Niagara Streets, 10 a.m. to noon.

Jan. 24 -- Red Cross headquarters, 719 Ashland Ave., noon to 2 p.m.

Jan. 31 -- Red Cross headquarters, 719 Ashland Ave., noon to 2 p.m.
