MAN SHOT IN STOMACH, LOSES JACKET IN HOLDUP

A man suffered a superficial gunshot wound early Saturday when three men robbed him of his jacket near Holden and East Amherst streets, police said.

Dwight Burnett, 41, of 183 Oxford St. suffered a stomach wound and was taken to the Erie County Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

Inspector Daniel Redmond said Burnett told officers he did not want to press charges against his attackers.

The shooting occurred about 3 a.m. when the men asked Burnett for a match, then apparently shot and robbed him, Kensington Station police said.
