DON'T DROP BIG LEAGUE BASEBALL PLANS

Should Bob and Mindy Rich capitulate to Alfred (The Whiner) Coppola's statement that Buffalo should drop plans for major league baseball?

No, of course not.

With baseball announcing that Buffalo is on the "short list" of cities for baseball expansion, we should be rallying together to show the major league owners we really want major league baseball in Buffalo.

Naysayers like Coppola lie in wait for their opportunity and leap out of the shadows like muggers. His misdirected and ill-timed mouthing could have a damaging effect on everyone's long and unselfish efforts on behalf of bringing major league baseball to Buffalo, but only if we let him.

Instead, let's turn his crying into a rallying cry for everyone who wants baseball here.

Buffalo has come too far and overcome too many obstacles to let Coppola be anything more than a minor bump on the road to the "show."
