ROCHESTER THEATER GIVEN $25,000 BY MITCH MILLER

Buffalo Philharmonic pops conductor Mitch Miller gave a welcome Christmas present to Rochester's GeVa Theatre -- a $25,000 endowment so it can hire more live musicians for forthcoming shows.

Miller, a former resident of Rochester, said he was impressed by the way the orchestra was being run.

Earlier this year, Miller got into a public spat with Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra officials, calling the orchestra badly managed after being told that he would not be allowed to conduct his usual number of concerts.
