Realtors' associations from Buffalo and Niagara Falls have received the 1990 community service award from the New York State Association of Realtors.
The awards are presented annually to the boards which consistently contribute to community development by participating in civic affairs.
The Greater Buffalo Association of Realtors won for its "Realtors Care for Children" program, which benefited Camp Good Days and Special Times, a camp for children with cancer and their families.
The group also sponsored "Realtors Care for the Homeless" and "Realtors Care for Safety" programs.
The Niagara Falls board collected cash, food, clothing and toys for Father Shuster's Homeless project, and held several fund-raisers to benefit Camp Good Days.
It also worked in cooperation with its local fire department to hand out smoke detectors to home buyers.
