Romania's former king Michael returned to his homeland on Christmas Day ending 43 years in exile in the West. Michael, 69, arrived in a private plane with his wife, ex-Queen Ana, and one of their daughters, Princess Sophie.
The former monarch, forced by the Communists to abdicate in 1947, has been living in Geneva and traveling on a Danish passport.
A member of the royal party said he would go to Curtea de Arges, where members of his family are buried. "This is a private visit," Princess Margareta, Michael's oldest daughter, said.
