PATRON SHOT IN THE BACK IN EAST FERRY STREET BAR

A 29-year-old Buffalo man was listed in critical condition in Erie County Medical Center late Tuesday after being shot in the back while at the Tanqueray Lounge on East Ferry Street early Tuesday morning.

The shooting may be drug-related, according to police.

Steve Austin of 354 Hewitt Ave. was in the bar, at 1077 E. Ferry St., about 2:10 a.m. Tuesday when four men entered, police said. One of them took out a .45-caliber pistol and fired four shots at Austin. One of the shots hit Austin in the lower back and went through his torso, coming out his chest, police said.

The four men then fled.
