Needy families who can't afford to pay for a Christmas tree will be able to pick one up for free Monday, courtesy of a local legislator and a tree farmer.
About 300 trees will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the district office of State Legislator Charles M. Swanick, D-Kenmore. One tree per family will be given on a first-come, first-served basis in the rear parking lot of Swanick's office at 3200 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore.
Contributing to the give-away is David Arida of Arida's Tree Farms.
Questions may be answered by calling Swanick's office Monday at 877-3986.
