Services for Leon L. "Pat" Patterson, 71, retired supervisor of the audit division at Harrison Division, General Motors Corp., and operator of Patterson's Grocery, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, 2670 Main St. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
Patterson, of Corwin Avenue, died Thursday (Dec. 20, 1990) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He worked for 36 years in various financial posts at Harrison before his retirement in 1980 as supervisor. He and his wife, Helen Wiese Patterson, operated the grocery store for 30 years before selling it in 1987.
Patterson was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church, Lockport, and was a past president and treasurer and a 30-year member of the Miller Hose Volunteer Fire Company. A member of the Newfane Lions Club for 27 years, he was a past president and a member of the board of directors.
Patterson also was a member and former treasurer of the Newfane Library Board, and formerly served as treasurer of the Olcott Yacht Club and had been a member of the Tuscarora Club, Lockport.
Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Leon L. III, with the 365th Hospital Unit in Aberdeen, Md., Alex of Boynton Beach, Fla., Jay of Lockport, and Peter; a daughter, Paula Benton; a brother, John of Florida, and eight grandchildren.
