A public hearing on the $25 million Town Green apartment complex in Amherst has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 9 in Town Hall, the state Housing Finance Agency announced Thursday.
The hearing was supposed to have been held last Tuesday night, but severe rainstorms in the New York City area forced cancellation of a flight booked by an agency representative, said Jack Deacy, director of public affairs.
About 35 people, mostly opponents of the project, waited an hour and 20 minutes before leaving.
Trammell Crow Residential of New Canaan, Conn., is seeking $20 million in tax-exempt Housing Finance Agency revenue bonds for the 264-unit apartment project. The site is vacant land on the west side of Youngs Road, across from the Erie Community College North Campus.
At least 20 percent of the 264 apartments would be for low-income tenants.
