A memorial service for Louis H. Triem, a retired vice president of Manufacturers & Traders Trust Co., will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in University Presbyterian Church, 3330 Main St. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.
Triem, 77, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Dec. 19, 1990) in his Amherst home.
Born in Buffalo, he attended the city's public schools and joined the trust department of M&T Bank in 1929. After many years as a trust officer, he was appointed a vice president as well in 1971 and retired six years later after 48 years with the bank.
During World War II, Triem served with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division.
He was an elder of University Presbyterian Church.
In 1987, he moved to Amherst after living in the Town of Tonawanda for about 30 years. He played golf in leagues in the Town of Tonawanda and Amherst area for the past two years and bowled with the Amherst Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Gertrude J. Steger, and two sisters, Linda Schlum of Depew and Ruth Mayer of Sun Lake, Ariz.
