An Irving man accused of shooting at police during an incident in North Collins was charged in a 17-count indictment reported Thursday by a Cattaraugus County grand jury.
Arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 7 for Bryan Maybee, 32, of Railroad Avenue on charges of drunken driving, driving without a license, speeding, five counts of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, third-degree criminal mischief, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle and traffic violations.
He is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase that began Jan. 5 in North Collins and ended the next morning in Perrysburg.
According to court records, Maybee ran from police after the chase and fled into the woods where he fired at the officers and then left the scene in a vehicle, nearly striking several officers.
A police car was damaged during the incident.
