A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Doughty Street, for Walter E. Marut, 68, of Tenney Street, who died Tuesday (Dec. 18, 1990) in Brooks Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 in the Richard Mackowiak Funeral Home, Doughty Street. Burial will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
Murat was retired from Al Tech Specialty Steel Corp.
He served in the Army Infantry during the African and Italian campaigns during World War II.
Murat was a member of St. Hedwig's Church and the parish's Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the Dunkirk Veterans of World War II, the Falcon Club and the Kosciuszko Polish Home.
Survivors include his wife, the former Florence Majka; two daughters, Dr. Tina Marut Reilly of Erie, Pa., and Tammy Marut of Bemus Point; a brother, Joseph of Fredonia, and two sisters, Jean Fik and Theresa Jarosz of Lackawanna.
