A Mass of Christian Burial for Stephen A. Riforgiato, an employee of the former Twin Fair Department Stores, will be offered at 12:30 p.m. Friday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 100 St. Gregory Court, Amherst.
The Mass will follow prayers at noon in the Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Riforgiato, 75, of Amherst, died Tuesday (Dec. 18, 1990) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, following an extended illness.
During World War II, Riforgiato served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater for 4 1/2 years. He was a member of Post 416, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Williamsville.
Riforgiato was employed by Twin Fair in a variety of managerial and supervisory positions from the late 1950s until his retirement in 1979.
After retiring, he spent winters in Florida and worked part time at Valu Liquors and the former Como Mall Liquor Store.
He was a member of the St. Gregory the Great Holy Name Society and Brookfield Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ida Battaglia; a daughter, Rosalie of Williamsville, and two brothers, Dr. Frank and John of East Amherst.
