SCIENTIST FINED $187 FOR DOUBLE BILLING UB

A former University at Buffalo environmental scientist was fined $187 in Amherst Town Court Wednesday on a petit larceny charge for double-billing the school by nearly $2,000 for expenses on school-related trips.

Town Justice Edward J. Robinson spared Dr. R. Warren Flint, 44, of 291 Porter Ave., further penalties because he made full restitution of $1,960 to the school, according to Assistant State Attorney General Jerry McGrier.

Flint pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to head off a grand jury probe of his "double-dipping" on expense account vouchers between May 1988 and last May.

Flint was forced to resign from the university faculty.
