Are 1-1-1 vs. Bruins this season, having lost and tied at home while winning only meeting in Boston Garden, and have outscored the Bruins, 9-7. . . . Are expected to be at full strength, with Alexander Mogilny returning from a slight concussion. . . . Dave Andreychuk's game-winning goal against Hartford gave him points in five straight games (2-4-6). . . . Rick Vaive has five goals and three assists through his last six games.
Bruins Update: Lost to Devils, 8-3, Tuesday at New Jersey. Prior to that game, were 6-3-1 in their last 10 but have been struggling in last 10 at home (3-4-3, same as Buffalo in the Aud). . . . Lost back-to-back games with Montreal, 6-4 and 7-1, then went on a three-game win streak and a four-game unbeaten streak before being hammered by the Devils. . . . Will be without coach Mike Milbury and tough guy forward Lyndon Byers, who received five- and 10-game suspensions, respectively, for their roles in an altercation against Hartford, during which Byers left the bench. . . . Winger Bobby Carpenter has been released from the hospital after undergoing surgery for a fractured kneecap, but is lost for the season. Cheektowaga resident Bob Beers will miss the game. The defenseman underwent surgery this week to remove pins that aided his recovery from a fractured leg. Winger Andy Brickley is questionable with a bad back. . . . Winger Can Neely has a five-game goal and point streak (6-1-7) since his return from a five-game suspension Dec. 9 at Buffalo. . . . Center Craig Janney is 2-7-9 in his last four games. . . . Goaltender Andy Moog, 3-0-1 in his last five starts and 5-1-1 in his last seven, is expected to start tonight.
