A memorial Mass for Rachel A. Imiolo, 23, an honor student at Daemen College, will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Union Road and Genesee Street, Cheektowaga.
Ms. Imiolo died Monday (Dec. 17, 1990) in the E.W. Durand Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Wednesday in the church. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Ms. Imiolo was a 1985 graduate of Maryvale High School, where she was a member of the Flyerettes, a dance group.
She received an associate's degree in transportation management at Genesee Community College, where she was chosen to spend a semester at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., in a college cooperative program for students in the travel and transportation field.
Ms. Imiolo was on the dean's list at Daemen and a member of the Tourism Travel Management Club called Wings.
She was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease and received a bone marrow transplant in March in the Rochester hospital, but her illness recurred in July. She received a second transplant in November and was able to accompany her family to Florida on a short trip.
Survivors include her parents, Daniel A. and Joan Imiolo; a brother, Daniel A. Jr., and her grandmother, Irene Wisnier, all of Cheektowaga.
