Arafat M. Nagi, 20, of Olcott Street, Lackawanna, was charged with second-degree assault Wednesday night in connection with the stabbing of Lee LaValley of Fulton Street.

Officers Charles Palumbo and Earl Stewart of the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority police said LaValley was stabbed in the left thigh about 6:30 p.m. at South Park Avenue and Alabama Street following an argument over 50 cents the suspect claimed he was owed.

LaValley was stabbed after he came out of a convenience store, police said. He was treated at Sheehan Memorial Hospital.
