BOARD TO MULL REOPENING WEST ELMA PRIMARY SCHOOL

The reopening of West Elma Primary School in the Iroquois Central School District will be discussed at an information meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 in the high school.

The Enrollment/Facilities Study Committee has proposed reopening the school on Rice Road in September.

It would once again be used for kindergarten through third-grade classes. The Marilla Elementary School and Wales Elementary School also would have kindergarten through the third grade, while the fourth and fifth grades would be located in Elma Elementary School.

The committee plans to attend all Parent-Teachers Organization meetings in January, and the School Board will discuss the recommendations at its meetings Jan. 14 and 28.

A final decision is to be made at the Jan. 28 meeting.
