Services for Albert J. Taylor, former chairman of the Niagara County Liberal Party, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East Ave. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
Taylor, 85, a resident of the Common, died Tuesday (Dec. 18, 1990) in Lockport Memorial Hospital.
He worked as a power-tool repairman for the Harrison Division of General Motors Corp., retiring in 1970.
Taylor was Liberal Party chairman for 17 years and was a candidate for both Congress and 5th Ward alderman in Lockport.
He was treasurer of Harrison Unit 1, United Auto Workers, and was a trustee of the Niagara County Council, AFL-CIO.
During World War II, he served three years as a special investigator with the Military Police in New York City and Nuremberg, Germany. He also served for seven years in the reserves.
Survivors include his wife, the former Catherine E. Ball; two sons, Robert E. of Kentucky and Nason J.; three daughters, Wanda Kiersz of Tennessee, Tanya Sherman of Indiana and Annie McCartney; 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
