TONAWANDA GAMBLING CASE IS ADJOURNED UNTIL JAN. 8

A gambling case against a City of Tonawanda printing shop owner and two others was adjourned for a second time Wednesday.

Duane A. Townsend, 65, is now scheduled to appear on Jan. 8 in City Court on misdemeanor counts of promoting gambling, possession of gambling devices and conspiracy. State police raided Townsend's Minerva Street shop on Nov. 19, seizing some 50,000 football betting slips. Also charged are Donald J. Lorich, 66, of the City of Tonawanda, and David T. Saviola, 26 of Niagara Falls.
