Applications for grants to improve the electrical wiring in homes in sections of the city are available until Jan. 7, according to Dominic Fiocco, construction specialist for Neighborhood Housing Services Inc.
Fiocco said the program is offered to all residential property owners in the agency's service area. He said grants providing 50-percent of the cost of the work, with a maximum grant of $750, are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The boundaries of the area covered by Neighborhood Housing Services are: Pine to Buffalo avenues; Hyde Park Boulevard to Portage Road and the 39th Street right of way. Also Grand to Seneca avenues, between 22nd and 24th streets.
