WESTFIELD VOTERS REJECT SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECTS

Residents Monday overwhelmingly defeated propositions totaling $12.7 million for building and renovation projects in the Westfield School District.

The propositions -- which included the construction of 20 classrooms and renovation of the gymnasium, offices, library, cafeteria and parking lots -- was defeated 1,045-577.

The construction of a swimming pool was defeated, 1,206-379, and a window replacement project, 1,034-568.
