Jan M. Fron, 49, of Cheektowaga, a production supervisor at General Motors' Saginaw Division, died Sunday (Dec. 16, 1990) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Fron, who was born in Buffalo and attended local schools, had worked for Saginaw for 28 years.
He was a member of Buffalo Council 184, Knights of Columbus, and was a softball umpire in the Lancaster-Depew area for 20 years. He also was active with the parents committee of Boy Scout Troop 161 at Resurrection Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anne; three sons, Michael Fron, John Crockett of Cheektowaga and Gary Fron of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two daughters, Kristen Crockett of Cheektowaga and Susan Fron of Port Charlotte; his parents, John and Helen Fron of Depew; a brother, James Fron of Camden, N.J., and a sister, Mary Ann Ryan of Clarence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Resurrection Church, Union Road and Como Park Boulevard, Cheektowaga.
Prayers will be said at 9 in the Daniel R. Smolarek Funeral Home, 2510 Union Road, Cheektowaga.
Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Lancaster.
