ONEIDA COUNTY CHIEF RESIGNING

Oneida County Executive John Plumley, who served longer than any of his predecessors, will resign his post next month after six years in office.

The 61-year-old Republican issued the announcement this week, saying he will resign Jan. 14. He cited personal reasons for leaving, saying he wanted to enjoy his family and tend to his contracting business.
