MCKEAN COUNTY TO BOOST TAXES 5%

McKean County commissioners voted Friday to increase county taxes by a little more than 5 percent next year, raising the tax rate by one mill to 23 mills.

The increase will net the county an estimated $141,490 in property tax revenue.

The owner of a $20,000 home will pay a county tax of $115.00 in 1991. County taxes in Pennsylvania are assessed on 25 percent of estimated property value.
