FREEDOM NOT CHEAP; IT CAN COST US LIVES

I must reply to the letter titled, "There's no country worth dying for."

The writer is an insult to every man and woman who died for this country. Thank God General Washington's men didn't think like him. Thank God General Pershing's men didn't think like him. Thank God General Eisenhower's men didn't think like him.

There is one country worth dying for. Unfortunately freedom is not cheap. On occasion it must be paid for in lives.

To this day when I stand singing our national anthem, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and tears come into my eyes thinking of all those men and women who died giving me the privilege of being free.
