State Comptroller Edward V. Regan had the unmitigated gall to whine that he needs a $10,000 salary increase. He had the audacity to say that in the private sector he would be earning $474,000.
Wasn't it just four short weeks ago that Mr. Regan chose to run for re-election knowing full well that the salary was a "paltry" $110,000? What possibly could have happened in this very short time frame to justify his blatant request for a salary increase for himself and several of his cohorts?
If Mr. Regan is having difficulties managing his home budget on $110,000, he should resign on the simple premise that he is just plain incompetent.
