Sistine Henfling, a school crossing guard, checks a pay telephone to ensure it is working despite its precarious position. She discovered the leaning phone booth Thursday at her crossing, Winspear Avenue and Main Street. A crossing guard for 11 years, she said she frequently uses that phone to report emergencies or to check that parents who are late meeting their children are on their way. The phone had a dial tone.
