OLEAN MAN CONVICTED OF DRUNKEN DRIVING

Sentencing has been set for March 18 for an Olean man convicted by a jury in Cattaraugus County Court of drunken driving last year.

After deliberating less than an hour Thursday, the jury convicted Richard Hale, 54, of drunken driving and driving with an illegal blood alcohol level on June 18, 1989, in Olean, when Hale ran into a parked vehicle. The jury also ruled Hale was innocent of leaving the accident scene without
informing police.

In other court action, James W. Farmer, 41, of Conewango Valley was sentenced to three years' probation and fined $350 for his guilty plea to drunken driving Oct. 4, 1989, in Conewango.
