Blue Cross of Western New York and Local 212 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union today announced the two sides have reached a tentative contract settlement. Details were not revealed.
The 680 members of Local 212 have been working without a contract since April 25. The principal issue during negotiations reportedly was job security.
"We are pleased with the contract put forth," said Francis E. Hayes, acting president of Blue Cross, in a prepared statement.
The union will vote on the contract Sunday at the Marygold Manor in Cheektowaga.
