A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph S. Strychalski, owner of Strychalski's Restaurant, will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, 324 Townsend St. Prayers will be said at 9:30 in the Richard Mackowiak Funeral Home, 56 E. Doughty St. Burial will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
Strychalski, 84, died Tuesday (Dec. 11, 1990) in Brooks Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He owned and operated Strychalski's Restaurant on East Doughty Street for the past 45 years.
Strychalski was a member of the Western New York Restaurant Owners Association and the Northern Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Dunkirk Exempt Firemen's Association and was a 50-year member of Murray Hose Company No. 4.
He also was a member of St. Hedwig's Church, Kosciuszko Polish Homes and the Dunkirk Falcon Club.
He was the widower of the Wanda Swiech Strychalski.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Jamestown and Dr. James; a daughter, Arlene Kreuzberg of Palm City, Fla.; a brother, Jack of Fredonia; a sister, Agnes Zawicki, and eight grandchildren.
