It's time to think about the future. If we continue on our present economic course, our country could turn into a second-class economic power.
What happened to those days when the United States had the best technology and was seen as a true economic power? Well, the U.S. still possesses all of that great technology. The only problem is that it is 20 years old.
Other nations, such as Japan, have been able to create better technology and have been able to become economically secure. Japan has become so secure by reinvesting its profits into technology. Instead of consuming everything now, the Japanese look to the future for technologies that can create better products more efficiently.
Already some of the products the United States produces are not able to compete with the superior Japanese products. It has been predicted that the next generation of United States workers will be poorer than their parents.
So when the holiday season comes along this year, instead of buying thousands of dollars worth of sweaters, invest in a sweater company for your child. Instead of buying that new domestic car for your spouse, invest in that car corporation. We are in control of our own destiny.
