Family Court Judge John F. O'Donnell was mugged Monday evening as he was going to the Erie County Bar Association's Bar Revue at the Convention Center, according to police and court reports.
Five youths attacked O'Donnell, 46, as he was about to cross the street in the 100 block of Franklin Street to get to the Convention Center for the light-hearted show about 7 p.m., according to reports.
O'Donnell was roughed up and suffered several head cuts but conducted a full court session today, according to court officials. The muggers, most of whom wore "Raiders" jackets, failed to steal any money from the judge, who was alone when the attack occurred. No arrests have been made.
O'Donnell declined to comment on the incident. The Bar Revue routinely pokes fun at doings in the area's judicial and legal communities, according to court officials.
