Junior Mary DelSignore poured in a school-record 40 points Monday night as Daemen College beat host D'Youville, 94-64, in a women's basketball game.
DelSignore, a former All-Western New York player from Niagara Falls High School, hit 17 of 23 attempts from the field as Daemen pushed its record to 2-6. Another Niagara Falls product, Julie Bellavia, had 19 points for Daemen. Sunshine Weinrich led D'Youville with 15.
Elsewhere, Kathleen Murtaugh had 18 points and Veronica Nowacki chipped in 16 as Hilbert (8-1) won at Monroe Community College, 87-38.
MEN'S BASKETBALL: Pat Swick went 7 for 7 from the floor and scored 17 points to lead Fredonia State to a 73-64 non-league win over Thiel (Pa.). Ryan Smock and Travis Eckler netted 15 points apiece for the Blue Devils (2-6). . . . Rob Robinson's 22 points and a 16-point, 11-rebound performance from Stefan VanDuluitgaarden were not enough as Daemen (4-8) dropped a 101-77 decision at unbeaten California (Pa.). . . . Derek Gray, who shot 11 of 15 from the field, registered career highs with 23 points and 11 rebounds as Niagara County Community College posted an 86-77 Penn-York Conference win over Jamestown CC-Cattaraugus. The Trailblazers (7-2 overall, 6-2 conference) also got 16 points from Chuck Kearney and 13 points and 12 rebounds from Damon Mason. Chris Devito had 22 and Chad Siago 18 for JCC-Cattaraugus (1-6, 0-6).
HOCKEY: Jason Lewis' two goals and a goal and three assists from Williamsville's Mike Lawley lifted St. Bonaventure (1-9-2) to its first win, a 6-4 triumph over visiting Brockport State.
