The local committee planning the World University Games in Buffalo during 1993 has started an executive loaner program that lets area businesses donate the services of some of their administrators to the organizing effort.
"We are a volunteer-driven organization, so utilizing the skills of loaned employees will fortify our organization in specialized areas," said Ronald Ferguson, the executive director of the organizing group.
"We need assistance not only in the areas of marketing, fund raising, public relations and accounting, but also in clerical" tasks, he said.
James Wallace, emergency medical services education consultant for LaSalle Ambulance of Buffalo, is the first local executive to take part in the program. He will be the manager of the medical department for the Buffalo games.
