A program to help minority high achievers now in seventh grade find places and scholarship aid in private schools will hold a series of open houses for children and parents before a qualifying examination Jan. 26.
The program, Buffalo Prep, is located in 2 Diefendorf Annex on the University at Buffalo's South Campus.
Directed at African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans, the program has placed students in the Nichols School, the Buffalo Seminary, Nardin Academy, Canisius High School and St. Joseph Collegiate Institute among others, officials said.
Parents and children can make reservations by calling 831-3605 for the sessions, which continue next Saturday and on Jan. 5 and 12.
Attendance at a meeting is required to take the Jan. 26 test.
