'Tis the season to be jolly; to shop until you drop.
But isn't it also the season to look into our hearts and our pocketbooks and think of others before ourselves?
I am a single mother, an adult college student on a fixed income. I know how good it makes me feel to skip a lunch or make some small sacrifice to come up with a few dollars for a reputable charity. If you have no money to share, why not share your time? Or perhaps you can give just a smile to a lonely person or a few kind words to a person in need.
The true magic of the season is giving, and the even nicer part is the special warm feeling you will get back by doing it strictly from your heart.
