HUMAN RIGHTS DAY TO BE MARKED

Buffalo Chapter 370 of Amnesty International will celebrate Human Rights Day with activities from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday in the International Institute, 864 Delaware Ave.

Monday marks the anniversary of the United Nations' passage of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The local celebration will include a ceremony reaffirming the group's commitment to the goals of Amnesty, a report on the status of the Soviet prisoner whose release the group is currently working on, a letter-writing session and a speech on changes in human rights by Claude Welch, professor of political science at the University at Buffalo.
