ALFRED P. ALLEN, RETIRED CONTROLLER OF BANK

A Mass of Christian Burial for Alfred P. Allen, a bank executive, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Gregory the Great Church, 100 St. Gregory Court, Amherst.

Allen, 91, of Williamsville, died Friday (Dec. 7, 1990) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst after a brief illness.

He had he lived in the Amherst Presbyterian Nursing Home for the past six years.

Born in Buffalo, he graduated of Rutgers School of Banking in New Brunswick, N.J.

Allen served as controller of Western Savings Bank for 20 years, retiring in 1960. He also was executive vice president of First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Niagara County and later joined Hamburg Savings & Loan Association, which elected him president in 1968.

During his banking career of 48 years, Allen served as director of the American Institute of Banking and president of the National Association of Bank Auditors and Comptrollers.

Survivors include his wife, the former Anna M. Stahl of Williamsville; two daughters, Patricia Vigneron of Williamsville and Barbara J. McMartin; a son, John A. of Williamsville; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
