A Bermuda-based investment group led by Peter Cundill has increased its stake in Trico Products Corp. to 10.15 percent, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Peter Cundill & Associates of Hamilton, Bermuda, made an investment of $722,000 to purchase 26,000 shares of Trico stock at prices that ranged between $26.25 and $32.50 per share. The purchases were made between Aug. 1 and Nov. 26, the filing said.
Cundill, which previously held an 8.74 percent stake in Trico, now holds 187,500 shares, making the group the second-largest shareholder in the Buffalo-based windshield wiper manufacturer.
The John R. Oishei Appreciation Charitable Trust, which is controlled by several company executives and directors, is the largest shareholder, with a 21 percent stake.
