A gunman fired 16 shots early today outside a tavern at 67 Walden Ave., wounding one man and sending several others fleeing.
The victim, identified as Yabar Ferreaud, 19, was shot twice in the lower back as he attempted to flee from three men, witnesses told police. Ferreaud was listed in stable condition in Erie County Medical Center, where he was operated on for the wounds. No motive was given for the shooting.
Genesee Station police said the incident happened about 1 a.m. as Ferreaud and several companions were leaving the King George Lounge. The gunman, who was with two other men, began firing a .22-caliber pistol from across the street.
The three men then fled East on Genesee Street, witnesses said.
