It's back to Wall Street for Carol Bellamy.

Ms. Bellamy, who lost her bid to become state comptroller in a hard-fought campaign against Republican Edward Regan, has joined the brokerage and investment banking firm of Bear, Stearns and Co. as a managing director.

Before leaving to launch her campaign against Regan, Ms. Bellamy, 48, worked at Morgan, Stanley and Co.

The Democrat is a former New York City Council president.
