ORCHARD PARK CONCERN FINED $25,000 IN POLLUTION CASE

A Town of Orchard Park road-marking company was fined $25,000 in criminal penalties Wednesday for discharging pollutants into the waters of the state without a necessary permit.

Accent Stripe Inc. pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge before County Judge Timothy J. Drury, admitting that on July 25 it allowed a highly-corrosive solution to discharge from a drain/receiver at its facility and flow into a state drainage ditch.

Accent Stripe paints directional stripes and marking on roads throughout the state and along the East Coast.
