John W. Grennon, 88, formerly of 27th Street, died Wednesday (Dec. 5, 1990) in the Fairchild Manor Nursing Home, Lewiston, after a long illness.
Grennon retired as an inspector for Carborundum Co. in 1963. He was a native of Green Island and was a Niagara Falls resident since 1925.
Grennon served in the Army during the early 1920s.
He was an active bowler and lawn bowler.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church; Niagara Council 247, Knights of Columbus, and the Carborundum 25-Year Club.
His wife, Mary Gladys Costello Grennon, died in 1985.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Grennon of Nashua, Mont.; four grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 22nd and Niagara streets. Prayers will be said at 9 in the R. L. Coleman Funeral Home, 1300 Pine Ave. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
